Behavioral Health Therapist - Crisis

As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.Be part of an interdisciplinary team that provides individuals opportunity for recovery management so they can live and work independently in their home and community.In a typical week, you will conduct face to face screenings in the office and/or community for stabilization or therapeutic intervention to mitigate crisis situations. Diagnostic, functional, and risk assessments will be completed as needed including investigation of commitment process. Individual and group services will occur at our Crisis Stabilization Unit. You will develop safety plans for individuals at risk and assist individuals in obtaining appropriate services both within the HSC and within the community. Education and consultation to families, community, interns, and residents as needed. Crisis Team members are expected to respond to all crisis calls within 15 minutes. Because services are provided in homes and communities, travel is a norm.To be considered for the Clinician position, you are required to have a master's degrees in Social Work, Counseling, or areas approved by the North Dakota Board of Counseling Examiners and ND licensure as a LCSW or LPCC. OR a Doctorate in Psychology and ND licensure as a psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners. We will consider filling this position as a Human Relations Counselor at a reduced rate.Human Relations Counselors must have master's degrees in Counseling and LAPC licensure, as well as be within two years of LPCC licensure. Details regarding licensure status and the number of training hours already obtained must be submitted with the application.OR a master's degree in Social Work and LMSW licensure OR a master's degree in Counseling and LPC licensure This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.Schedule:The Hybrid Schedule includes a rotation of overnight shifts. Overnight shifts consist of being stationed at the Crisis Stabilization Unit from 4:30pm until 11pm while responding in person to calls in the community. After 11pm, you are permitted to be stationed at your home for the remainder of the night until 8am, however in person response is still required for crisis calls received. The average number overnight shifts per month is 4-5, including one weekend every other month. Holiday and weekend shifts would also consist of spending a minimum of 3 hours at the Crisis Stabilization Unit, otherwise calls can be received while being stationed at your home. Day shift is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm at NCHSC.
