A Direct Care Associate - Parent Aide (05-35-5832) provides services to families who are in crisis or have children at risk for abuse or neglect and provide direct service to the elderly and/or disabled individuals in their home to enable them to remain in their home in the community.For the parent aide role: you will assist with tasks needed to prevent out of home placements of children or assist with re-unification if children are removed from the home. Participate in developing a client family plan; provide or nurture parenting skills through demonstration and instruction. Testify in court as needed. Provide instruction/guidance in shopping, proper nutrition, budgeting, and hygiene. Provide instruction/guidance on performing household tasks and organization. Provide information on community resources and supports. Supervise parenting time for children in care. Provide transportation as needed/help family to become self-sufficient using public transportation. Keep documentation on assigned cases and complete case logs. Participate in Child and Family Team meetings/Child Protection Team/other meetings as necessary. Serve as an advocate for clients.For the Direct Care Associate you will be responsible for providing environmental services and personal cares to eligible individuals such as: laundry, shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, bathing, hair care, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED plus experience no less than one year as determined by agency of working with children and/or families.
