- Geospatial Roadmap
- Geospatial is at a bit of a transition point, for example, we’ll be seeing retirement of key people at some point in the next few years, we have other agencies expressing interest in geospatial, technology has dramatically changed, we don’t have much more resources than we did 15+ years ago, etc.
- 20+ years ago a vendor was hired to help set the strategy. History will be somewhat repeated by sending out an RFI for a cost estimate of what we should include in the budget for 25-27 to help us during that timeframe to identify the geospatial roadmap.
- Geospatial Special Interest Groups
- Rod and another person is planning to present at the PLS Annual Meeting
- Colin is planning to present at the 911 Quarterly Meeting
- Steve is planning to be at the ND Transportation Conference
- Roundtable/Open Forum
- Bob said the MAGIC Symposium email blasts are beginning - April 2024
- Rod mentioned the location of county boundaries with respect to river channels at a time in history vs. the location of those river channels now, in particular, those rivers such as the Bois de Sioux that have been channeled. There is potential for someone to have a MN address but might actually be in ND, or vice-versa
- Brock brought up John Wesley Powell, who foreseeing the issues brought about by moving river channels, suggested state boundaries should be defined by watersheds.
