This position will require travel to all counties in the North Central Judicial District and will provide conflict services in other jurisdictions. You will be handling cases from initial appearance through trial, allowing you to gain experience in all stages of the judicial process. The Minot Public Defender Office is made up of a Supervising Attorney, two staff attorneys, a legal assistant, and an administrative assistant. Duties and Tasks

Responsibilities include: Represent clients in judicial proceedings in a competent, effective, and ethical manner.Provide representation for conflict cases in other jurisdictions as necessary which may require travel.Keep abreast of statutory and decisional law in areas of practice.Maintain license to practice laws and obtain required CLE credits.May assist with agency education and training programs and projects for public defenders and contract attorneys.Performs other duties as necessary and/or assigned by the Commission.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law schoolLicensure as an attorney eligible to practice law in the State of North Dakota. We will consider applications from persons eligible for licensure, but not currently licensed in ND.Two years work experience in the practice of law which includes court experience. Experience related to criminal defense is preferred.Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Analytical and decision-making ability. Underfill may be considered if there are no qualified applicants. Qualifications for underfill would require a JD and eligibility for licensure in ND. Salary Range $5950-$8285.

As part of the Audience Engagement & Museum Department, the Exhibits Manager, will oversee the effective concepting, design, writing, and execution of all exhibits of the State Historical Society of North Dakota. This role's responsibilities include developing interpretive themes, drafting exhibit text, and leading the development of a long-range exhibits plan. With many new exhibit projects starting, this position offers the chance to make a lasting impact on how North Dakota's history is shared with the public.

Duties and Tasks

Lead the development, design, and execution of exhibits for permanent, temporary, and digital exhibits and interpretive projects. Develop and oversee a long-term exhibit plan for two state museums.Draft exhibit themes and text for all agency exhibits. Collaborate with editors, marketing, and education teams for exhibit related publicity and education projects.Manage exhibit budgets, grant applications, and timelines for the two state museums.Facilitate communication among internal and external stakeholders.Supervise temporary exhibit staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in exhibit design, art, history, museum studies, or a closely related field and three years of professional experience in managing and producing large-scale exhibits.Demonstrated experience in project management, writing exhibit text, analyzing bids and contracts, and team collaboration skills.Skilled in the use of materials, tools, and methods for exhibit installation and maintenance.Proficient in design software (e.g. CAS, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch-Up). Knowledge of ADA requirements and emerging trends in exhibit design.
