- Training Needs
- Contact Bob is your agency has multiple people needed a selected course
- We'll try to fill the class in order to make it economical
- Authoritative Tags
- Bob has been slowly applying them to the items in the Hub Data Portal
- Wondering about the criteria for dealing with datasets that originate outside of state agencies but agency data stewards refine them and make them more readily usable on the Hub
- Some concern if setting the ‘authoritative’ tag sets up a liability
- Perhaps ‘authoritative’ can be extended to datasets that we have created/developed for our use in North Dakota, e.g., wetlands layer was modified for our use; SSURGO on the Hub is not in the original form. We also have to keep in mind that if one downloads the data from the source, e.g., SSURGO from the NRCS that it may be different than what is downloaded from the State if we have customized for our use.
- Bob said he will look around for Esri’s definition of ‘authoritative’
- The metadata could also be used to define what we mean by ‘authoritative’
- Privileged Database Access
- We use the concept of a “privileged” active directory account for elevated administration of agency data.
- An elevated database permission above a view-only and below a privileged account is a user within an EDITOR role that is associated with an agency
- With an EDITOR role, a data steward can edit metadata, delete, and load features
- With heightened security measures, the NDIT DBAs have proposed a timed privilege account whereby an agency data steward can request the activation of their privileged account. After a set period of time, this privileged account will be disabled
- Parcel Program Status
- For the past 6 months the web services have averaged over 15k requests per day but during the week a given day can have over 26k requests
- We are focusing more on data current, needed for Game and Fish
- Please use the Parcel Viewer to report suspected data issues
- Roundtable/Open Forum
- It was suggested to add an option to the Parcel Viewer to allow the user to select the label field
- Next meeting will be December 21
