North Dakota State Hospital - Jamestown, ND - Activity Assistant II As an Activity Assistant II , you will play a vital role in providing life-enrichment activities within the North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH). You will support individuals currently residing at NDSH by offering individual and group activities in a variety of settings. You will collaborate with others to plan and execute recreational events and outings. You will design programming that encourages physical activity, increases socialization, and provides entertainment. You will assist in creating treatment plans and goals for the clients you work with to prepare them for what happens when they leave NDSH. You will monitor, document, and report individuals' behaviors, conditions and social skills. You will ensure that you are providing a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment for all people involved. To thrive in this position , you are able to keep an open mind, adapt to changes quickly, and bring new and creative ideas. You need to be a patient and social individual who wants to build and foster a positive environment. To be considered for this position , you must have a high school diploma or GED and one (1) year of work experience in life enrichment, day care provider, CNA, DCA, DSP or related work. Degrees to be considered: This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation. About ND State Hospital: The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals. About US Our mission is to provide timely and effective behavioral health services to North Dakotans improving their quality of life through achieving and sustaining recovery. Our focus is providing rehabilitative care in an integrated manner in the person's home and community. Location : ND DHHS utilizes a blended workplace model. Depending on the role, employees may work from home, onsite or both. This position is located on site in Jamestown, ND at the North Dakota State Hospital.
